Suffolk Show 2023
The Suffolk Show is an annual event that attracts more than 90,000 people every year. The show, returning for its 192nd year, celebrates the food and farming community in Suffolk but attracts a nationwide audience.
The This is Fever team had an incredible two days exhibiting at the show for the first time. Arriving bright and early on Wednesday to their cosy stand decked out with chipboard signage, a sofa area to chat with business owners and branded cookies courtesy of the wonderful Trinity Pâtisserie in Wivenhoe, This is Fever were ready to meet the business owners that flock to Trinity Park to experience the food, drink, activities and atmosphere of the show.
Why the Suffolk Show?
It was confirmed by visitors to This is Fever’s stand that they were the only marketing agency exhibiting at the show. Attending a show focused on the agricultural industry might appear to be a strange decision for a digital agency. However, due to our proven track record integrating with Ibcos Gold, they proudly service multiple clients in agricultural industry including Tuckwells and TNS. Additionally, as the recent winners of a UK Dev Award for eCommerce website of the year, This is Fever were proud to be stood alongside some of their eCommerce clients, Out and About and Suffolk giants Stokes Sauces.
A greener, greater internet
In addition to reconnecting with This is Fever’s current clients, the show was an opportunity to meet new business owners and talk to them about digital sustainability. Reducing the carbon impact of the internet was particularly relevant at the show, considering how drastically farming has been impacted by climate change in recent years. The This is Fever team had many great discussions with businesses about the two key ways they can reduce their digital carbon footprint; switching to green hosting and on-site optimisation.
The future is eCommerce
Talking to businesses throughout the food hall, This is Fever met with food retailers of all shapes and sizes. Conversations highlighted that many were apprehensive about selling online and a few had been stung by negative experiences in the past. The Fever team were keen to dispel any eCommerce misconceptions and emphasise that eCommerce can revolutionise a business, as it did for Stokes Sauces.
Cultivating the digital landscape
Overall This is Fever’s inaugural experience at the Suffolk show was a resounding success. The team walked away with plenty of new contacts, ideas for next year’s stand and very tired legs.
