Longitude Engineering

Working with a global company to elevate their digital landscape.

How a ground-up website build helped a multi-discipline engineering firm present the full scope of their work with clarity and confidence.

The commercial challenge

Longitude Engineering operates across four disciplines: offshore wind, marine operations, ship design, and facilities engineering. They work across multiple geographies and carry an extensive project portfolio. The business has genuine depth and authority. The problem was that their digital presence did not reflect it.

A website that fails to communicate a complex offering clearly does not just underperform on aesthetics. It loses qualified prospects at the first point of contact, undermines commercial credibility, and places an invisible ceiling on growth. The objective was to structure Longitude’s full offering into a site that is immediately legible, professionally authoritative, and capable of serving an international audience.

Analysis and insight

The core challenge was information architecture. Four distinct disciplines, each with its own portfolio, service detail, and target audience, needed to coexist without creating a site that felt fragmented or overwhelming. Visitors arriving from different markets, with different needs, had to be able to orientate quickly.

Longitude also operates internationally, with English and Portuguese-speaking markets representing a meaningful share of their client base. Any solution that ignored this would limit the site’s commercial reach from day one. The strategic direction was clear: build a site around disciplined structure and confident visual language, with multilingual capability embedded from the outset rather than retrofitted later.

Built from scratch, built to last

Longitude spearheaded the design strategy to ensure perfect alignment with their portfolio, while TiF executed the full website development, from information architecture right through to the final build. Every decision was made with two things in mind: clarity for the visitor and manageability for the client. The result is a site that is clean and confident in presentation, structured to grow as the business adds disciplines, geographies, or portfolio work.

The four core disciplines were given clear, distinct homes within the site structure, allowing visitors to navigate directly to what is relevant without encountering the full breadth of the business at once.

A full-screen video header establishes the scale and nature of Longitude’s work immediately, setting commercial tone before a single word is read.

Rather than a templated solution, the site was built to Longitude’s specific needs, with a CMS structure that allows the internal team to update content, add portfolio entries, and manage the site without technical support.

English and Portuguese language versions are built into the site natively, ensuring Longitude can engage clients in both markets without maintaining separate sites or workarounds.

Measurable outcomes

Longitude spearheaded the design strategy to ensure perfect alignment with their portfolio, while TiF executed the full website development, from information architecture right through to the final build. The return is a digital asset that works independently, without ongoing agency dependency, reducing the long-term cost of ownership compared with a template build requiring specialist support for routine updates. The multilingual functionality directly extends Longitude’s commercial reach.

Portuguese-speaking markets can now engage with the business in their own language, removing a friction point that a generic English-only site would leave unaddressed. The structured approach to four disciplines and multiple geographies means the site scales with the business rather than requiring a rebuild each time the offering evolves.
