A brochure that's miles ahead
Tom Oliver is a 21 year old motorcycle racer based in Essex.
With dreams of pursuing a professional career, he came to us looking to create a fresh new brochure aimed at increasing exposure to local businesses and securing sponsorship for the coming years. Armed with an extensive knowledge of both motorbike and F1 racing, along with some awesome shots of Tom in action, we set about creating a polished information pack to fuel Tom’s future.
We were handed a couple of brochures from previous years as a starting guide. These mostly contained older photos and information that needed updating. Tom has recently had some great professional photos shot and we wanted to really make a feature out of these, along with bringing in a simple, new logo.
Tom had some great ideas for the brochure. We began to sketch out the layout of the 8-page brochure and put together some ideas for additional visual content to make it easier on the eye. This included expanding the existing race plan into a 12-track race calendar for the year ahead, complete with track illustrations for the reader to follow his progression.
Although we had a head start on images by working with some great quality shots, we wanted to apply a slightly atmospheric feel to the brochure. We achieved this by enhancing blue and cool red tones while muting warmer hues to work with the new colour scheme. This helped us to move away from the previous brochure’s predominantly red style.
Knowing how the sponsorship is spent and the benefit of a business lending their support is a big deal. We wanted to make it super clear just how much the various aspects of racing can cost, along with laying out the benefits to sponsorship through clear iconography.
Despite requiring a short turnaround and operating on a limited budget, we speedily produced the brochure to a high standard and liaised with the previous printers to achieve the finished product. We hear that Tom has already finished on the podium this season and we expect to see great things from him this year!
