Brand refreshment

Laura required an update to her existing brands and a new, bespoke website build, optimised for both SEO and content marketing. Her content consisted of a variety of recipes, videos and blogs.

With a 3rd party marketing agency, Aphra, we established 3 main aims for Laura.

  • Modernise both brand and website without alienating existing user base
  • Create a bespoke space, centred around user sharing
  • Create an open, accessible platform, optimised for ongoing SEO work

A balanced aesthetic between brands

Our job was to update the identities for both Balanced Baby and Laura’s personal brand. Her logo was a rastered watercolour image, which created some challenges with its application. We used this logo as a jumping-off point and played with digital simulations of watercolour effects, culminating in an easy-to-use vector watercolour style. This maintained her existing branding while enabling previously unavailable scalability, and was applied to both sister brands for consistency and continuity.

Social focus

Leading on from the brand work, we created a bespoke, socially-orientated site that was optimised for sharing content. We made sure there was ample opportunity to cross-post different content types, integrating further reading algorithms for related content.

The Outcome

Since the website and brands were launched, we have gone on to design and produce digital assets for newsletters, including an eBook, following in the style of the main site. We also manage web hosting and support ensuring Laura is free to maintain her site worry-free.
